History
2007

2000

The most modern welding technology is being introduced in our German production process. Our other cooperatives abroad are already working with it.
The number of employees is now more than 130.
Ernst Probst, the still active and competent founder celebrates his 80th birthday together with his family and staff.
The booming market in U.K. required another move into more suitable facilities.

1996
Increasing Administration

The cramped space for the administration came to an end after the completion of the larger production and despatch area. More floors with bright and friendly offices were built, E.D.P., phone and telecommunication were extended.

1994
More Space !

The production area of our Thuringen subsidiary plant expanded and more products were produced there. The consequence for this was that more employees were hired in the field of production, demonstration and service.
To comply with the increased demand, the headquaters in Erdmannhausen were also expanded by a modern annex with large and bright work places in the field of production, storage and despatch. All in all, more than 7.000 sqm are now at our disposal.

1988
We had a Stroke of Luck

Up to now we had offered an universally suitable hydraulic installation clamp for the mechanical installation of paving stones as an attachment device for various carriers. Now a completely new installation machine was developed in teamwork. It corresponds to the increased requirements of mechanical installation and creates a new standard. This type of product was introduced to the experts at a fair. The solidity, maneuverability and reliability of the unsurpassable practicability of this machine is still an important "pillar" in our product range today

1978

Early in 1978 son Martin took his exams as a graduated mechanical engineer and joined the firm.
In the meantime, the one-"man"-office of Helene Probst changed into various departments with several employees. A works' manager was appointed, as well as engineers and designers. Up to that time all sales efforts had been concentrated on the South of Germany, but now further clients were also sought in other parts of the Federal Republic of Germany. By means of advertising campaigns, dealers in machines and handling equipment could be won as permanent customers.

1964
The First Serially Produced Grab - a Milestone

A Tower Crane Clamp was the first serial device. Construction companies were the first to buy this equipment and this led to companies wishing to operate as dealers for us. The Ernst Probst Company began to attract attention. The first leaflet was printed and distributed. A sure sign of the spread of the good word in the market was when a local concrete manufacturer required a special ring clamp which should fold like an umbrella. This device with many variations was a big success then and still is today. The company received its first German Approved Design (DBGM) for this device.

1961
Foundation

It was in 1961 that Ernst Probst founded a company for the production of handling equipment. The small factory was situated in the Silcherstraße in Erdmannhausen, near the beautiful hometown Marbach of the famous poet Friedrich Schiller. Between 1952 and 1959 he already had dealt in agricultural machinery. The temporary managership of a locksmith's workshop in a concrete factory made evident to him the need of handling equipment for the construction industry. In autumn 1961 the closed-down shop and the modest factory facilities were liven up. The first order was the development and construction of a grab to be attached to a fork lift truck. Other difficult works followed which all found good solutions. Verbal recommendation created new orders for the company.
